CityStyle: Detroit Named City of Design

Detroit Named City of Design: First American City Designated by UNESCO…

Detroit was recently named the first and only American city to receive the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) City of Design designation.  Joining a global network of cities committed to investing in creativity as a driver for development and cultural vibrancy, design continues to be an integral element in the Detroit community as a catalyst for change.

Ken Nisch, JGA Chairman and Detroit’s College for Creative Studies Design Advisory Board Member said, “This serves as an interesting springboard for new developers and businesses to consider Detroit, not only from a marketing perspective, but even more particularly from an inspirational standpoint.”   City of Design.
