Senior Designer

JGA seeks a Senior Designer to join our team to contribute to and, at times, lead the design and delivery of significant projects for a variety of commercial clients, in the retail, hospitality, and technology-related categories. We are seeking a Senior Designer with proven experience in conceptual design, space planning, design development, color and material selection. S/he should also have strong presentation skills and client communications experience both oral and written.

Education and Professional Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in workplace interior design, environmental or retail design.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Retail Design, Architecture or a related field from an accredited university

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to translate client needs and requirements into design solutions and visually articulate them through 3D renderings for presentation
  • Ability to develop well-designed, clearly written and content-relevant client presentations
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, 3D and/or other modeling software programs as well as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Strong work ethic – must be self-motivated, client-focused and detail oriented
  • Strong organizational skills – must have the discipline and focus to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and work collaboratively on multiple teams and projects
  • Excellent verbal, written and visual communication skills

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • This position reports to the Creative Director
  • The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment with architectural, industrial and interior designers to create fully integrated design strategies and solutions
  • S/he will develop engaging, innovative and branded transactional/experiential environments
  • S/he will demonstrate critical thinking and perspective when solving creative issues
  • S/he will support Creative Directors in all aspects of the project including developing image boards, sketching and rendering, computer-based space planning and spatial visualization, color and finish specifications, client presentation, design intent documentation and resource coordination
  • S/he will have the opportunity to lead projects under the guidance of Creative Directors.
  • S/he will participate in presentations to prospective and established clients

Drafter

JGA seeks an experienced Drafter to join our team to support multiple design and construction projects across a diverse range of international clients, industry categories and brands. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience, ideally from an architectural or engineering firm specializing in retail, hospitality and/or restaurant design.

Education and Professional Experience Requirements

  • 2 years minimum of professional experience as a Drafter in a related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or a related field from an accredited university

 

Knowledge and Skills Requirements

  • This position reports to the Project Manager.
  • Advanced computer knowledge in AutoCAD 2016  and/or Revit, project scheduling software, and Windows-based programs
  • Analyze construction document changes and integrate with an entire set of drawings prior to Project Manager review.
  • Define and execute drawings and specifications required for projects within deadlines.
  • Research construction codes and accessibility standards.
  • Knowledge of current architectural methods
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess good problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
